The Method

Restore your natural state through the body.

In short

A simple method for a heavy load.

Neurosomatic Stress Release improves your quality of life by releasing mental and physical blockages, without drugs or medication. It works through the connection between body and mind, using movement whose effect you can feel straight away.

As you return to your natural state, your life energy flows more freely. People often notice more happiness, more energy and greater resilience against burnout.

What you practise

  • Isolated movements from the Yan Shou Gong Nei Gong system
  • Rooting, grounding, centring and balancing
  • Partner work that trains awareness of others
  • Attention that stays with sensation, not with performance

Why blockages form

Modern life interrupts the flow.

Every stressor, whether a deadline, an argument or even a notification, can trigger the same fight-or-flight response your body uses for real danger. It is meant to switch off again once the danger has passed. In modern life, it often doesn't.

The body

Too little movement, or the wrong kind: sitting, bracing, pushing through. Your tissues keep a record.

The mind

A mental and emotional load that is never completed, so fight-or-flight stays switched on, even when the room is safe.

The mix

Usually it is both. Together they lower the energy you have left for creative, joyful living.

Where it comes from

The art of cultivating a long life.

The movements come from Yan Shou Gong Nei Gong, rooted in the healing arts of the Shaolin tradition and refined by generations of grandmasters with health, not combat, as the goal. This is the foundation on which Joyful Mindful Movement was built.

Yan Shou Gong means "the art of cultivating a long life". We are all growing older, and the aim is to do so with style, staying able to do the things you love later in life.

To make the method even more effective, it was developed further with input from psychiatry, psychology and body-oriented therapy. It was then field-tested for six years, in real sessions with real people, before it became Neurosomatic Stress Release.

“A calm mind brings inner strength and self-confidence, so that is very important for good health.”
